And Yet Will I Praise YouAn Ode of Job

Scheduled release 30 October 2026

An extended Celtic story anthem moving from Job’s ashes and Habakkuk’s trembling faith into shared hope in the crucified, risen and ascended Christ.

The story behind the song

From the silence of Job’s ashes comes a fragile confession: “And yet will I praise You.” His questions lead into awe before the God who speaks from the whirlwind. Habakkuk’s prayer joins the song, holding fast when the fields are empty and the body trembles.

The story opens into our shared life in Jesus Christ, crucified, risen and ascended. Male voices, pipes and an orchestra of fiddles carry the journey from elegiac grief towards resolute hope, intimacy and praise. Its closing testimony turns outward: to sit beside the grieving, bear their burdens and proclaim the living Saviour.

And Yet Will I Praise You — An Ode of Job is a BeShiny Anthems release from BeShiny Music.

Job in the ashes

He tore his robe and bowed his head
The dust beneath his knees
The house that rang with children’s songs
Was silent on the breeze
His friends came down and shared the ground
For seven nights they stayed
And from the ashes, bruised with grief
He lifted up his face

First chorus — quiet hope

And yet will I praise You
And yet will I rejoice
O God of my salvation
To You I lift my voice
Through tears and trembling, hold me
Your strength will see me through
And yet will I praise You
My hope remains in You

The cry

How long must sorrow fill my days?
Where can I find You, Lord?
Their answers fall upon my wounds
I wait to hear Your word
You know the road beneath my feet
The questions in my cry
My living Redeemer, hear me now
To You I lift my eyes

The whirlwind

Then from the whirlwind came His voice
Across the darkened land
Who set the boundaries of the sea?
Who holds the dawn in hand?
And Job bowed low beneath that voice
In wonder, dust and tears
Now I behold the One I sought
Whose name had filled my ears

Intimacy and awe

Here in the ashes
You strengthen my heart
Teach me to fear You
To know who You are
Holy and faithful
Before You I bow
You heard all my questions
And meet with me now

Chorus

And yet will I praise You
And yet will I rejoice
O God of my salvation
To You I lift my voice
Through tears and trembling, hold me
Your strength will see me through
And yet will I praise You
My hope remains in You

Habakkuk’s prayer

Renew Your work among us, Lord
Let mercy meet our days
Your splendour fills the heavens wide
The earth resounds with praise
You stride across the surging sea
To bring Your people through
Though trembling shakes my weary frame
My eyes remain on You

Though the fields are empty

Though branches bear no blossom
Though vines are stripped and bare
Though fields are dry and empty
And hunger fills the air
Yet You will be my strength, O Lord
You steady every stride
Across the steep and broken ground
You lead me at Your side

Refrain

And yet will I praise You
And yet will I rejoice
O God of my salvation
To You I lift my voice

Our confession in Christ

The hope they held through dust and tears
Now rises in our song
We turn to Christ, the risen Lord
To whom our lives belong

Christ dead, risen and ascended

Jesus, You entered into death
You bore our sin and shame
You rose and broke the grave’s dark hold
We live to bless Your name
Ascended to the Father’s side
Enthroned in light above
You draw us into life with You
And hold us in Your love

Declarations of belonging

I am forgiven!
I am Your own!
I am made righteous!
You brought me home!

Union with Christ

With Christ I died
With Christ I’m raised
With Christ I’m seated
To Him be praise!

Strength in Christ

I can stand firm
You strengthen me!
I can press on
You walk with me!

Resolute hope

I will hold fast!
I will draw near!
I will speak hope
Where hearts know fear!

Mercy and witness

I will show mercy!
I will forgive!
I will proclaim
That Jesus lives!

Chorus

And yet will I praise You
And yet will I rejoice
O God of my salvation
To You I lift my voice
Through tears and trembling, hold me
Your strength will see me through
And yet will I praise You
My hope remains in You

Final communal chorus

And yet will we praise You
And yet will we rejoice
O God of our salvation
We lift a faithful voice
Through tears and trembling, hold us
Your strength will see us through
And yet will we praise You
Our hope remains in You

Closing testimony

We’ll sit beside the grieving
We’ll share the weight they bear
We’ll tell of Christ our Saviour
And lift their names in prayer

Final hook

And yet will I praise You
And yet will I rejoice
Jesus, my living Saviour
To You I lift my voice
